In tumultuous times, girls’ group is a space for girls to relax into creativity & play, while cultivating deep connections with themselves, each other, and the rhythms of the natural world.

Nature's Rhythms
We practice attuning to the rhythms of nature and the changing seasons through observation, arts & crafts, food preparation, herbalism, and storytelling; this also helps us attune to the rhythms of our ever-changing female bodies!

We cultivate trust and belonging with one another over time, learning to be our authentic selves during a season of shifting identities, interests, and bodies.

We learn to channel thoughts, emotions, and experiences into various forms of expression, as a means of creating beauty and as a tool for processing all that comes up in life.

Emotional Resilience
Adolescence is a time of increasing pressure, responsibility, and complex social dynamics; we fill our toolbelts with strategies for moving through, expressing, and letting go of emotions as a means of supporting a lifetime of mental and emotional wellness.

Ancestral Skills
We learn and practice various ancestral skills, such as fire-tending, animal observation, plant ID, foraging, paints + plant dyes, weaving, etc; these skills offer an opportunity to develop grit through meeting challenge and find empowerment in success, as we grow our relationship to this place.

Body Literacy
We learn about the workings of our changing bodies, with a focus on what they need and how we can tend to them to feel our best; puberty is the first of the 3 ‘golden opportunities’ in a girl’s life, where small shifts can majorly impact the trajectory of her overall health.

Storytelling
We explore deeper themes - such as friendship, intuition, and integrity - in an accessible and age-appropriate way, through traditional myths and contemporary stories.
In practice, this looks like…
Each group will have regular meetings that follow predictable and intentional rhythms, according to the age/stage and specific needs of the group members.
It will look something like this:
Arrive, eat snack, settle-in
Play a game
Grounding + embodiment, small opening ritual
Main activity (informed by the current theme); may include story, song, exploration/inquiry, nature-based crafts, movement, games, time in nature, council, mindfulness and self-awareness practices, creative expression, preparing food or herbal medicine, practicing ‘hard’ skills, etc.
Closing circle
Groups may elect to do a few extra outings or overnight camping trips through the course of the year.
At the end of each spring block, in years that hold major transitions, girls will be invited to participate in a day of challenge and community celebration to mark another step travelled on their journey from girlhood into maidenhood (adolescence).

5th Grade GIRLS’ GROUP
JOURNEY THROUGH the ELEMENTS
Who: 5th Grade Girls
When: 1x/week after school, specific time & day TBD
2 BLOCKS:
Fall + Winter/Spring
Investment (per block): $495
In this group we will journey through the elements of Earth, Air, Water, and Fire, to learn about ourselves and the world around us; there is an emphasis on tools to support the transition into puberty and living in rhythm with the seasons. This is a 1 year commitment (with the option to continue as a cohort, based on interest); our year culminates in an elemental challenge and an honoring ceremony to mark and bless the transition from childhood into maidenhood with family and community to witness. There will also be one Parent Circle per block.
8th Grade GIRLS’ GROUP
JOURNEY THROUGH the ELEMENTS
Who: 8th Grade Girls
When: Sunday afternoons, 2x/month, specific time & days TBD
2 BLOCKS:
Fall + Winter/Spring
Investment (per block): $400
In this group we will journey through the elements of Earth, Air, Water, and Fire, to learn about ourselves and the world around us; there is an emphasis on tools to support the transition from middle to high school and living in rhythm with the seasons. This is a 1 year commitment (with option to continue as a cohort, based on interest); our year culminates in an elemental challenge and an honoring ceremony to mark and bless the transition into high school with family and community to witness. There will also be one Parent Circle per block.
